First Republic Hires Private Banking, Investment Management MDs

California-based First Republic Bank, a provider of private banking and wealth management services, has hired Silvia Fernandez as a managing director in its private banking unit and Alan Remedios as portfolio manager and managing director in its investment management division. Fernandez will work with high net worth individuals, families, businesses and foundations, providing private banking, private business banking, investment management and trust services, and real estate lending services while Remedios will work with clients to develop equity and fixed-income investment management solutions at the firm’s investment management unit. Prior to joining First Republic, Fernandez worked for Silicon Valley Bank for 12 years, most recently as head of private client services. Before that, she worked for Wells Fargo Bank and First Interstate Bank. Remedios previously worked for First Foundation Advisors, most recently as managing director of fixed income investments.
